With inspiration found in the manufacturing techniques of vintage lighting manufacturers, the Ivanhoe® Collection is made with quality in mind. A worthy successor to the pendant lights of the past, this selection of fixtures is constructed using similar procedures as those historic manufacturers. A flat piece of solid metal is sculpted by hand — taking on the shape of warehouse shades. Then each shade is coated with three layers of porcelain enamel. The porcelain is what gives the shades their longevity. Baked in an oven reaching temperatures of 1,600 degrees, the porcelain becomes rock-hard and capable of lasting for years.
Originally, vintage lights were made to withstand explosions. They were installed in warehouses, factories and other demanding locations. Our pendant lighting uses that durability when installed as exterior lighting. Salty air is notoriously tough on lighting fixtures. Because of their porcelain enamel coating, the fixtures in the Ivanhoe® collection are able to endure installation in ocean front properties and other tropical settings. Options like the Bomber, Sky Chief and Aero have damp-rated cords, allowing them to furnish covered porches.
Porcelain enamel lighting isn't only used in taxing settings. In fact, the porcelain heightens the style. The glossy appearance demands attention in any location. These cord hung lights suit a variety of decors, ranging from contemporary chic to industrial farmhouse. For interior spaces, the classic warehouse shade hangs from a stylish cotton cord. This look is seen in the Dino and Sinclair. The sleek shades are perfect for both residential and commercial lighting purposes. Porcelain shades withstand high traffic restaurants, breweries and retail venues. For a stylish new addition to your home or business, consider Ivanhoe® cord hung pendants.
